Where am I going this time? (In Order) 3 Nights in Berlin , 2 Nights in Athens, 3 Nights in Barcelona and 2 Nights in Madrid .

I’ve been wanting to accomplish this next trip for a while now. I’m a huge football (soccer) fan and I’ve been wanting to go to an Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund game for years. I went to Madrid last year but I didn’t get a ticket because I thought there weren’t any games going on. It turned out to be a good thing that I didn’t go because it rained that whole weekend, they lost that game and I wouldn’t have met my friend Louis. Louis is from England but lives in the Madrid area. We’ve kept in contact and we talk football almost weekly.

We later agreed to meet up again in Madrid and go to an Real Madrid game… Real Madrid vs Valencia :

As most of you know, I love Berlin and everytime I go I meet up with my German Brother Kylo. When I picked out the Real Madrid game I realized that Borussia Dortmund is playing at Home (Signal Iduna Park)…not only that…they are playing in one of the biggest rivalry games in Europe, Borussia Dortmund vs Schalke!

If you want to know more about how intense their rivalry is, check out this video:

For those of you unfamiliar, Dortmund is on the opposite side of Germany than Berlin. I will be taking a train across the country to watch the game and then back to Berlin afterwards.

I’m heading to Athens for 2 nights to meet up with my friend Katerina. Some of you may have seen her “Know Thy Traveler” post as she’s a fellow travel blogger. We’ve been friends since the interview and after lots of conversations, she convinced me to add Athens to the list.

In Barcelona I will meet up with my awesome friends Niya and Joy (You better show up Joy!)

Overall, this will be a great trip with a mixture of Football and Friends. I won’t be by myself on this trip as I’ll be with someone who has never been to Europe before. I can’t wait to introduce them to my friends, show them what the football environment is like there and overall have an sensational vacation.

Cost Wise…All Flights, AirBNBs, Trains and Football game tickets, it will be right at $2000.

Sharing is caring!
