Every time I go to Europe, I always find my way back to Berlin. I remember when I made my travel plans to see London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin, I thought Berlin would be my least favorite of all the cities. Turns out, it’s my favorite city till this day. I feel very comfortable being there and I’ve learned a lot about this wonderful city.Read More
I’ve been very fortunate in my life the past couple of years. I’ve made the right career moves, looked out for myself when I needed to and made life changing decisions to put me in the position I am now to start to travel. I say this because the beginning of my journey starts in my favorite city Berlin. A city that I’ve officially stayed at 4 times in a year. Every time I try to go somewhere else, I get drawn back in.
After my Germany trip in the Spring, I decided to do another trip in October and really wanted to hang out with Ruben, someone I met in Munich who is from Amsterdam. We planned it out and finally the time had come for us to meet again.Read More
You ever have that feeling of deja vu? I swear I have it every time I tell a friend that I’m going to Berlin and their response is inevitably “Again?”…yes AGAIN. I never have a chance to really explain in detail why I love Berlin and why I keep going back to this wonderful city. First let me state that I’m biased to Germany in general. I took an interest in the German language which led for me to meet native German speakers and to eventually go to Germany. Even with me being biased, I still have great reasons why Berlin should be somewhere on your shortlist if you’re planning to go to Europe.
Day 9 – Last full day in Germany and I really enjoyed myself. Today I walked through the tourist area and took a panaramic picture of the Brandenburg Gate as well.
Afterwards I went back to Kreuzberg and had some Austrian Wiener Schnitzel as recommended by a friend. It was my first and it was very good.
Resting for now. Might go out tonight, we shall see. Enjoy the pictures.
Day 8 – Best decision I made was to come back to Berlin for the last couple of nights.
So it’s official, Berlin is my favorite European City. So multicultural, it’s a young, vibrant and interesting city. I’ve never had anything bad to eat in this city either lol.
With me losing my euro cellphone, I decided to buy another one. Found a cheap one but it has new features like panaramic picture taking.
Day 3 (Continued) – I went to the Irish themed pub to watch the Arsenal vs Manchester United game and was a good time.
So tonight is my last night in Berlin. In the morning Im taking a train to Munich and will be staying in a hostel while Im there.
Berlin is a great place. People are nice, lots of good food, very multicultural, terrific night life and lots of history.
Day 3 – Ich bin müde (I am tired) lol So last night I partied at this night club till 4 am…great time, great music. My taxi driver asked where I was from and I said Ich komme aus Amerika (I am from America) and his first reaction was “DONALD TRUMP IS THE WORST PRESIDENT!” I literally laughed out loud and agreed. He did clarify that the American people are very nice its just bad politicians…which I agree with.
Anyways today I decided to go the tourist route and see the Angel and Brandenburg Gate. I saw them on my last trip but this time the weather was beautiful…another 70+ degree day. For breakfast I had falafel and a coke.
Day 2 – Yesterday was a long day but I got lots of sleep to enjoy today. I first had breakfast around the corner at this Turkish breakfast spot and had Turkish Mocca for the first time…very different tasting.
I walked south to this local flea market which was interesting. I continued walking to Tempelhof Airport which is an old airport from the Third Reich.
After seeing the airport, I walked all the way to the Spree River which runs through the center of Berlin. Today was so beautiful…70 degrees and everyone was outside.
